Welcome to the Service Learning Floor Blog. Penn State Behrend's Service Learning Floor will use this blog to share reflections on the community and on the various projects completed over the course of the upcoming year.
If you are a member of the floor or have been a participant in the community's activities, please feel free to share your reflections/thoughts here by signing up for a name and letting me know of your interest so I can add you to the list of editors. If you are not a part of the community, please keep returning to the blog to read the various updates; our intention is to draw you in as a member of the community. This blog will allow us to connect better with each other, but it also allows us to showcase our projects and events for many other schools, organizations, and people to see. Our upcoming trip to Gulfport, Mississippi over spring break will enhance our opportunity to reflect and report our experiences, thus further catalyzing the learning process.
One requirement for all residents of the floor will be the submission of a blog post every month. The topic should touch on the experiences you have had in those thirty or so days when serving others. More information regarding this requirement will be presented at the first Service Learning Floor Meeting, to be held on Monday, August 27th, in the Smith Chapel Living Room at 5:00 PM (food will be provided).

Serve and Learn is a blog for the Service Learning Floor at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. Residents and other community members will reflect and report their experiences as they serve the community and their spring break trip to Gulfport, MS to assist with Hurricane Katrina relief.
